The Wetlands Mawson Lakes

The Greenfields Wetlands cover 114 hectares and are one of the largest constructed wetlands in South Australia. They are located just 15km from Adelaide’s CBD. As part of the Barker Inlet Wetlands, they are home to over 160 bird species, along with a variety of aquatic plants and animals. The wetlands play a vital role in stormwater management and environmental conservation.

Visitors can explore walking trails, enjoy birdwatching, and learn about wetland ecosystems through interpretive signage. The area offers wheelchair-accessible paths for leisurely exploration, making it an excellent destination for nature lovers, families, and school groups.
